Halloween In Scammon Bay

WELCOME! to our Haunted House!

This is Slim. He is the Biology Dept's contribution to the fun!

The night before Halloween, many of the staff worked to
build a Haunted House attraction down a hallway near the gym.

Spiders and webs were hanging everywhere!

A string of lighted bats to set the mood.

This was the graveyard. You can sort of see the
tombstones on the wall to the right. Jeff, one of our
teachers, would reach through a curtain and grab at
the kids!

And on the left (too dark in this pic) was a casket (not a real one)
and a vampire (Pastor Jason, below) came out of it.

In the pic below is Christina and Max. They are from Arkansas.
Max is from Yellville and Christina is from Jonesboro.
We are UCA Alumni! So there are 3 UCA Bears fans in
Scammon Bay, AK. As we've gotten to know each other, we
realize that we know some of the same people. That's cool.
Christina teaches in the Elementary.
Max teaches English across the hall from me. He and I
are working together as Tsunami Bowl Team (Science) sponsors.
It's great fun---the kids on the team are researching and writing
a paper on the melting Arctic sea ice. In Feb. we will be taking
the team to Seward (a beautiful location) for competition. I can't wait!

Here are a few of our students in costume for Halloween.
I must say that Rita is one of the cutest witch!

Shanelle as the Camo Sock Monkey?

Darian is ready for Mardi Gras!

SCREAM! That's the Zombie Movie playing on my TV.
It's a Zombie Love Story. (What?) My students said it was
"Expert".

Spidey!

President Obama.

Darth Vader.

Another cute witch!

The Haunted House cast of players.
Missy, our Principal, is the pumpkin.
The scarecrow is my roommate, Allie
Max was our zombie.

Bloopsy, the scary witch in black, had a boiling cauldron.

These high school students were acting so tough before entering the
Haunted House. But they screamed and ran for cover just like a bunch of school girls.
(Oh, some of them are school girls. That explains it!)

The above photos are my students working on
making papier mache brains.

Halloween was fun in Scammon Bay! You could feel
the excitement of the kids!  That's something I enjoy about
the school atmosphere here----they take time for fun and making great memories.
